Why It doesn't matter if you are wrong

I used to be so afraid to express my convictions. I was afraid of not being enough. My partner was very different. Somehow he had missed the “embarrassment” gene and did not think twice about putting his convictions out into the world.  Furthermore, he was so passionate that he got others to help him --for FREE. Why? Because he asked them to. It is unusual for people to put themselves out there and to end up being WRONG. For most people, anyone that was willing to share a passion with them, they were willing to help. This is when I realized that it really doesn't matter if you are wrong, it only matters that you have conviction.  

Here is the thing: what if something that you had conviction about ends up being the next  (fill in the blank). It could be a truly amazing product or service. It could change your life and the life of others. BUT--you were too afraid to actually put it out into the world.  So no one helped you and no one was able to take advantage of this new product or service. What a shame if we never had Amazon, ETSY or Oprah. Just saying...aren't we all better that these things are in the world?  

Think about how great life would be if you were willing to share your convictions without the burden of being right or wrong. It only mattered that you were truly passionate and BELIEVED you were right.  How different would your world be right now? I am assuming VERY different.  So what are you waiting for?
